Our Story
Hello Pets is a small, local pet store on Dutch Village Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We offer quality kibble, raw food, treats, toys, and everyday essentials for dogs and cats. Whether you shop in-store or online, Hello Pets is a place built for people who love the everyday joy of life with their pets.
We focus on keeping things simple and personal. You will find brands pet parents know and trust, along with friendly and thoughtful guidance to make sure your pet gets what they need, and the things they love.
How Hello Pets Began

Hello Pets was started in August 2022 by myself, Mohammad, along with my brother Hasibur and our friend Sady. We originally came to Halifax from Bangladesh as international students and never imagined we would one day open a pet store together.
The idea did not come from long planning sessions or market research. It started from a genuine desire to build something meaningful together. Being a pet parent myself, I had experienced the comfort, joy, and companionship pets bring, especially while building a life in a new country. When the idea of opening a pet store came up between us, it immediately felt right. We shared it with Sady, who was just as excited, and we decided to take the leap together.
More Than a Pet Store
We want Hello Pets to be more than a place to shop. Our goal is to create a welcoming space for pet parents and their pets, built on care, connection, and trust. We started with a genuine love for our pets and a strong belief in community.
We continue to learn every day, guided by conversations with our customers and the pets that walk through our doors. The support, kindness, and encouragement from the Hello Pets community in Halifax and beyond mean more to us than we can put into words, and they continue to shape the kind of store we are proud to grow.
